Credit cards are increasingly becoming an integral part of a student’s wallet. A recent study shows that 84% of undergraduates have a credit card with the average number per student being 4.6. This increase has also lead a equal large number of students being in debt. When students are being constantly bombarded by credit card advertising and when even colleges and universities receive compensation for giving out student information, it certainly becomes hard to resist one. Credit cards have their own advantages, a few being that it always is very useful during emergencies, and one need not carry cash at all times and a student can also benefit from the schemes these credit cards offer.

But it also comes with its own disadvantages.The high interest rates, additional fees and the impulse to swipe the card and spend unnecessarily are some of the cons.
